Great place to chill. Lots of walks on your doorstep. Good food at the retreat. And a hot tub!
Great place, fancy cabins, very warm, tons of wildlife right outside, loads of activities and helpful staff. The whole package.
The accommodation is excellent. Stayed for the week. Under floor heating throughout the ground floor which kept the lodge toastie all the time. Upon arrival the lodge was spotless the table was all set out and the hot tub was ready to go. Really enjoyed the stay, perfect location (feels so isolated) relaxing time. Highly recommend
Fantastic weeks stay! Would highly recommend, waking up to the light through the trees is spectacular. Hot tub was brilliant.
Second holiday with Forest Holidays but first time was in Forest of Dean. This time was really nice again, stayed in a four bedroom golden oak cabin. My only criticisms would be that the forest retreat prices are astronomical (I get that they charge a premium for convenience but the prices are just ridiculous) and the geocaching activity was a let down. The clues were often missing, not where they were supposed to be or were badly damaged to the point where you couldn't read what they said - when we raised this with the staff at the forest retreat the ranger said he'd checked the clues earlier that morning, which we thought was very unlikely. Didn't feel like the staff were particularly good at resolving our complaint so for that reason I deducted a star.Having said that, I would definitely go back again and would recommend Forest Holidays to anyone looking for a short break.
