Supposedly the most haunted hotel in the UK! It's a nice old coaching in with great bar in the old part. Rooms are a little tired and could do with a revamp but it's clean and comfortable, especially in the more recent wing which I guess is from the 1950s or 60s.The Dad's Army cast stayed here when filming and the hotel makes good use of this with lots of cast photos and the names of some parts such as Godfrey rest and the Warmington on Sea restaurant. Food is OK, nothing special but good hearty fare at reasonable prices and the service is always friendly and helpful.Parking at first appears to be pay and display between the hotel and the river, but it is free for hotel guests. Most rooms overlook the river and Captain Mainwaring statue.

Spent some time here, listening and reading to tales of the old town. Wonderful cosy experience. Heard the piano playing in the sitting room only to find No one there. Very spooky. Great service and lovely food. Co st bedrooms. Very clean and tidy.
Love this place. Nice place to relax. Great food and pleasant staff. Clean and tidy at all times. It gives a very homely feeling. This place is ment to be haunted, a few spirits have been seen wandering in the hotel and court yards.
