Absolutely fantastic looking forward to next week
I stayed in The Mill for a couple weeks whilst doing a summer course at Cambridge University. As I left the main road for the farm track that leads to New Zealand Cottages, I was immediately charmed to notice that my only neighbours would be the hares and pheasants.My room - called Hewetson - is cosy and bright with a very comfortable double bed. The spacious common area has a pleasing mixture of old and new decor and is equipped with everything you could possibly need. Being able to cook for myself and have a fridge at my disposal for all the wine I wanted to stock up on, made me feel at home in no time.However, the best part of The Mill is its heart and soul - the Harts. Sandra and Piers went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and help me with everything I needed - taxi numbers, restaurant recommendations, places to visit, and the list goes on. I must mention particularly that freshly baked coconut bread and strawberry jam which got me out of bed every morning!The Mill is ideal for professionals, tourists, explorers anyone looking for a quiet accommodation and appreciates high quality with a unique, personal touch.
We are so happy to have found this lovely gem in the Suffolk countryside. From the wonderfully warm reception to the top class accommodation we enjoyed our stay very much. Highly recommended.
Tucked away in a lovely rural and quiet corner of Suffolk, The Mill is a luxuriously comfortable space to spend a weekend relaxing or taking long walks/runs around the countryside. The rooms are comfortable and immaculate and a lot of thought has gone into the central living space/kitchen to make it feel like home.
This has been newly converted with loads of attention to detail. The rooms are clean, bright and well thought out with lots of cupboard space, desk and huge TVs. The water pressure and temperature is great, and the bathrooms spotless. Each room is different and you can tell how much thought has gone into making this feel like an extension of the family home, but with just the right amount of privacy and independence. Highly recommended for people needing somewhere to stay near Bury St Edmunds or Thetford.
